THIS IS A NOTTINGHAM CITY HOME IN 2006.
a.k.a. A Council Maisonette.
We have only one room (Lounge) unaffected by rising and penetrating damp. One bedroom is uninhabitable and the remaining bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are rapidly deteriorating.
When we first moved in four years ago, it was obvious that the property had previously suffered serious structural problems. On being assured that these problems had been rectified we proceeded to totally re-decorate. Here are a few more photographs of the worst affected bedroom.

Moisture has ingressed into the window reveals, causing the uPVC double glazing unit to be severely compromised.

This is the internal communal staircase giving access to the maisonette. The bedroom pictured previously lies directly under the regularly flooded floor. Every time the floor floods, 'Nottingham City Homes' (The ALMO) rushes to put out the warning bollards. This is known as 'Due Diligence' and would make it difficult to claim against the council should a resident slip on the hazard. Apparently, residents sentenced to a progressive respiratory condition caused by damp conditions are of little concern.
