THIS IS A NOTTINGHAM CITY HOME IN 2006.
a.k.a. A Council Maisonette.
We have only one room (Lounge) unaffected by rising and penetrating damp. One bedroom is uninhabitable and the remaining bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are rapidly deteriorating.
When we first moved in four years ago, it was obvious that the property had previously suffered serious structural problems. On being assured that these problems had been rectified we proceeded to totally re-decorate. Here are a few photographs of the other (Occupied) bedroom.

The damp has penetrated from the adjoining bedroom and is insidiously rotting the contents of this room. The carpet and decor on this side has already been destroyed.

The external (and fire-exit) door is becoming less usable as moisture permeates into the timber. Bookcase and contents are slowly rotting. (We are running out of dry space in this modern - day slum.)
