| What is Learning Through City Farming? "Learning Through City Farming" is using the real practical work of the farm, to help you develop your skills, whether they be work based skills, learning a new job, improving your number and word skills or or just learning to get on in a relaxed work based environment. To help you access the learing environment of a City Farm, Stonebridge City Farm is organising a series of work based training courses. | |
| The courses... will be 12 weeks long and aimed at people of all ages and abilities and will be based around:
|
|
In each area there will be a highly qualified member of staff able to suport and train you as appropriate.
You will be given an initial interview and assessment where you will decide what you want to get from the 12 weeks at the farm.
There is an opportunity to achieve qualifications through our Open College Network programme in all areas.
Work at Stonebridge is always done at a pace most relevant to the individual - which means you work at your pace. There is always something to suit everybody, and what is more, thanks to support from the European Social Fund, and the Learning and Skills Council, we can offer these courses completely free of charges.
Interested? Then print off this application form
and send it to us. But remember, it will be first come, first served, and there will be a rush for places. The courses will be running over the next two years with regular start dates. If the September date is not right for you, then get in touch about the other dates.
If you are receiving Job Seekers Allowance and are worried about losing out on your benefits, you can work 16hrs or less a week on the course.
